Fire Safety: Know the Drill

Did you know that most home fires start in the kitchen? Or that not every extinguisher fights the same kind of fire? Has your family agreed on an escape plan in case of an outbreak in your home?

At Liberty Mutual’s BeFireSmart.com, you can find answers to these questions and dozens more, all in the name of preparing your family about fire safety and preventing home fires. You’ll find games, instructional videos, fire safety quizzes, and a tool to build your family’s own fire escape plan.

A section for kids includes a downloadable coloring book that tells a story about never hiding from a firefighter during a fire, and “Dress Fire Fighter Frank,” a game in which kids help Frank change from his day uniform into his firefighting uniform. What’s more, the site also includes classroom lesson plans for teachers, and resources for firefighters.
